Vote for Your Favorite Artist at Uneetee

I was viewing some of the entries for this weeks Uneetee contest when it dawned on me...these people are genius (well most of them anyways). This week more than ever I am loving what I see. Right now I am really loving the hand drawn sketches mixed with more abstracts splotches of color. I think the two different ideas blend well creating a unique feel that makes the t-shirt more than just something to trough on. The shirts designed in this manner are more classy and fashionable (in my opinion). Enough about what I like, I want to know what designs you are going to VOTE for! After you go vote head over to the comments and share which design you are loving!

Spreadshirt Designer...Wear Your Thoughts

I have come across a great website for customizing your own t-shirts entitled Spreadshirt. Not only can you customize and design your very own t-shirts, but you can set up a free store and sell your designs! How sweet of a deal is that? The correct answer would be very sweet. But wait it just gets better...it is completely free to set up and maintain a shop, plus you get to set the commission. You as a shop owner don't have to do any hard labor, all you have to do is be creative. You even own the rights to all of your designs, so you are free to take them down whenever you please. Setting up shop is a no loose situation in my mind. If you are already planning on designing a t-shirt for you or your friends, why not put it in your shop so the general public can enjoy you creativeness as well!

Go check out the site for yourself!

Everyone has old t-shirts that are no longer practical to wear, but you just aren't read to give up. Well readers you are in luck. I have stumbled up on two super easy ways to make your own recycled t-shirt bag. These bags are great for quick runs to the grocery store, as school totes, or even to keep in your car just in case.

The first one is really quick and easy, but it reqires a sewing machine. So if you don't have a sewing machine handy or just like the idea of using Duct Tape and staples the second set of instuctions is for you!

The first is from Instructables.com.

The second is originally from the The Today Show but can be found at Craftstylish.com.

How To Cusomize Your T-Shirt To Look Vintage

Who needs to spend a large amount on a t-shirt labeled 'vintage' when you can just make your own at home. With these easy steps you can create your own vintage t-shirt out of your favorite shirt to give it a new edge or out of just anything you find lying around. You will be able to customize your t-shirt to your exact liking and have to satisfaction of knowing it is one of a kind! Plus it is cheap...who can't appreciate that? Now lets get started.

Step One: Make a solution to soak your shirt in by mixing 8 cups of water and 1 and a half cups of salt in a pot. stir the salt until it dissolves and the solution is boiling. Before placing your shirt in the solution make sure it has cooled off, we don't want to shrink our shits. Let your shirt soak in the solution for 3 days.

Step Two: After the 3rd day remove your shirt and wring it out. Then rub super fine sandpaper briefly along the outside and inside to give it that 'worn in some areas' look. Make sure you are gentle when going over any designs or words so that they don't rub off or ruin.

Step Tree: Hang your shirt outside to dry so it can catch some rays and fade into perfection.

Step Four: Quickly rise out your shirt in the sink then wring it out so it is only slightly damp.

Step Five: Now just wash your shirt in the washer and dryer as normal.

There you go, you are done. Feel free to alter any of the steps and experiment with it (this is your shirt not mine), but most importantly have some fun!

Uniform Fashion Causing Increase in Custom T-shirts

I found this article online and really enjoyed it. It gives in site on how our instinct is to be unique, we have "the basic human need to be different." It states fashion's increasing uniformity as a cause in an increase of custom made t-shirts. I think they may be on to something, read the article and let me know what you think!

Many fields have become defined by the presence of major chains and corporate entities. Whether it is the huge high street banks (which have failed so spectacularly in recent months!), sprawling dining brands or household fashion names, it has become increasingly difficult for people to differentiate themselves from one another as the as independent chains are driven out by big brands. Of course, the eternally hip fashioner will always stay one step ahead of the game – these days frequenting vintage and retro clothing outlets as likely from the major chains. For the likes of you and me, however, getting reasonably fashionable clothes has become {much easier when leading-edge trends are available from supermarket chains alongside the weekly grocery shop.

Despite the accessibility of quite decent fashion, the basic human need to be different influences our taste and choice. More and more people are looking to unique creations: clothes that reflect their personalities. Lots of people don’t have the cash for their own designer, but solutions available from myriad sources means that custom clothing is within reach – and of course, t-shirt printing is a frequent option.

Printed t-shirts make use of cotton tees, such as you can get in any supermarket. There are a variety of options for creating your own look with any design your fancy – from the bold public statement to the gratuitously offensive. Making it at home by yourself is massively popular. You can buy a kit that comprises special programs and special printing paper that can be used to transfer print outs onto a t-shirt with nothing more complicated than an iron. For people without the inclination to bother with software, designers make customizable ‘templates’ available on the Internet. rowdy stag party], a collection of amusing t-shirts are a must-have and there are loads of websites offering this is a service. Typically you can create your own slogan and a eye-watering colour scheme and the company behind the website takes care of the needs. Some websites have gone so far as to develop online design software to let create their own simple templates.

Printed custom t-shirts are a brilliant way to make a statement. They can be worn to to express your allegiance to a team or cause. They can be an amusing addition for a mate’s charity run or other celebration. You can take them on a march to demonstrate your point of view. Regardless how you use them, the combination of cheap clothes and modern printing techniques make t-shirt printing a great vehicle for creating your own image and making your clothes a vehicle of personal expression.
